As we have mentioned in several BAXI articles, Hydrogen is not a source of energy , because we do not extract it directly from nature, but rather it is an energy vector that is produced through the energy we use and that has been extracted directly from nature.
Hydrogen is an alternative to natural gas that could be supplied to homes in the future through the existing gas network.
In line with the commitment to sustainability and the kazakhstan phone number library European Union's Strategic Plan to improve the integration of the entire European energy system to help eradicate CO2 from the EU, BAXI has developed a boiler that runs 100% on hydrogen.
The new solution to decarbonising heating is a boiler that works with 100% hydrogen , the Platinum H2 boiler.
Why is an alternative to gas heating necessary?
The use of fossil fuels is emitting greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. These gases build up in our atmosphere, causing temperatures to rise across the planet which is changing our climate.
The European Union has therefore endorsed a binding target of reducing net domestic greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, a substantial increase compared to the EU's previous target of reducing emissions by 40% by 2030.
New BAXI Platinum H2 Hydrogen boiler prototype
The 100% hydrogen boiler is a reality and these are its characteristics:
Modulating boiler with a power of 28kW, for heating and DHW applications.
It has a performance similar to that of natural gas condensing boilers (Fuel utilization).
Compact dimensions and weight and appearance equal to natural gas boilers.
Installation and commissioning similar to current equipment using natural gas.
CE marked by DVGW (Label to be able to sell and show that it maintains European standards).
No CO/CO2 emissions and less than 10 mg/kWh in NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions.
But in order for us to be able to replace the current conventional gas boilers with the new 100% hydrogen boilers, the most important thing is that the hydrogen supply is available via natural gas pipelines. That is why cooperation with the grid operators is of crucial importance for BAXI.
