Scientists and researchers at Tel Aviv University have created a charger that is capable of fully recharging the battery of smart devices in just a few seconds. This charger has only been tested, so far, with the Samsung Galaxy S4 model.

According to an Anker survey conducted by Foxtrot Research, short battery life on smart mobile devices is a problem for American smartphone consumers.

47% of respondents said their gcash data smartphone battery dies once a week, compared to 31% whose battery dies once a day. This problem could be of some relevance to the Hispanic community living in the United States, which is already one of the most powerful mobile phone markets (they make up 15% of the total US population). For Hispanics living in the United States, the smartphone is their main source of communication , and almost their only way of connecting to the Internet.

StoreDot, a nanotechnology company, was in charge of presenting the innovative charger in Tel Aviv, where it was possible to see how a Samsung Galaxy S4 went from 0% battery to 100% in just 30 seconds. The creators explained how the model, which is still a prototype, uses a bio-organic technology of nanodots, tiny conductive crystals that allow the rapid charging of the device in question. The size of the charger is still reducible, since it is comparatively the same size as a laptop charger, and the researchers are already working on it. They are also investigating how to create chargers for all types of smartphones. The Wall Street Journal stated that the company could begin mass production and distribution by the end of 2016.

According to Experian Marketing Services, cell phone ownership rates are equal among adults and Hispanics, but the number increases for Hispanics if they own a smart mobile device (63% vs. 60%). In addition, the Hispanic community is 17% more likely than non-Hispanics to access the Internet through that device, above the use of computers. Anxiety or fear of a smartphone battery running out causes users to engage in certain negative or impractical behaviors in their daily lives, such as turning off the phone, disconnecting data plans or closing open applications that the user is using.
