Mailfence's goal is to develop the most secure and private email service , to replace traditional email providers. In our opinion, traditional email providers are not trustworthy. As you may already know, providers like Gmail have stopped their end-to-end encrypted email projects . Google did not abandon the project because of a lack of technical capability. The reason they do not offer encrypted email is because this would be detrimental to their business model. Google wants to know as much as possible about its users. Additionally, the US government wants to be able to access data stored in US-based cloud services. End-to-end encryption would make all this impossible. Yahoo even allowed US authorities to spy on its users.
